Don’t want to see the dentist? Follow these tips!

Let’s face it, the dentist is not everyone’s favorite doctor to visit. With the bright lights and scary tools, it can be a bit intimidating to make an appointment every six months. At High Cotton Greenville Density, you don’t need to worry about being mistreated or judged. We’ll take great care of you. Even so, if you want to limit your dentist appointments down to two a year, follow these tips for great dental health!

First and foremost, you have to have a good tooth brush. Stop in and see us if you are looking for recommendations. We’ll also show your proper brushing technique, which means brushing at 45-degree angle, hitting all of your teeth. You should brush for at least two minutes twice a day. Be careful not to brush so hard that you make your gums bleed!

When you are brushing, make sure to clean your tongue as well! Cleaning the top kills the excess bacteria on your tongue, keeping your mouth super clean.

Next, you need to floss. Flossing removes the stuff between your teeth, keeping your mouth extra fresh.

Make sure you are getting enough calcium and vitamin D to keep your body and teeth strong and healthy.

Although not required, you can use mouthwash to kill extra bacteria on your gums and in your mouth.

Lastly, as much as you may hate it, regular visits to the dentist are the best way to keep your teeth healthy. Cleanings should happen every six months and an x-ray and full check up every year. Also, make an appointment anytime you have a toothache or notice swelling or bleeding of the gums.
